The Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk Concept Resurrects the Brand’s Origins

For a brand so inherently associated with off-road capability, it is somewhat surprising that Jeep’s initial all-electric offering is the street-oriented and high-performance Wagoneer S Launch Edition. According to Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep for North America, this is primarily due to the development timeline of the Wagoneer S Launch Edition compared to the upcoming Jeep Recon model. However, at the Wagoneer S unveiling, Jeep also showcased its off-road intentions with the Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept, a more traditional Jeep model.

The Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept shares many similarities with the Wagoneer S Launch Edition, although specific specifications were not provided. It may not be as powerful or feature-rich with technology as the Launch Edition, evident by the absence of a passenger infotainment screen. However, the Trailhawk concept emphasizes practicality for challenging terrain.

With an additional 3 inches of ground clearance, reaching 9.4 inches compared to the Launch Edition, the Trailhawk concept boasts improved off-road capability. This increase is attributed to a 2-inch suspension lift and 1-inch from the 31.5-inch all-terrain tires. The vehicle is equipped with 18-inch multipiece wheels with enhanced rim design for better bead seating at low tire pressure.

Enhanced approach and departure angles, steeper front and rear bumpers, and an additional “Rock” mode in the Selec-Terrain traction system set the Trailhawk concept apart. Exterior features include scratch-resistant black plastic trim, red-orange tow hooks, an aluminum roof rack, and “Desert-Rated” badging reminiscent of the Jeep Gladiator Mojave.

The interior of the Trailhawk concept receives an off-road makeover, featuring a Mantis Green faux leather upholstery with Ultraviolet purple stitching, granite veneer trim, and configurable storage straps in the doors. Designed for active lifestyles, the Trailhawk concept offers a rugged yet stylish interior.
