Newly Spotted Spy Shots Capture Redesigned Interior of Nissan Murano

The reimagined Nissan Murano has been revealed in metro Detroit once again, showcasing a significant portion of its updated interior. While the exterior of this prototype is still camouflaged, it’s evident that Nissan is making progress towards production of its refreshed midsize SUV.

The highlight of this update is the cabin redesign. The current dashboard places the infotainment system low, a design choice that reflects the vehicle’s age. However, in the latest photos, we see a completely revised layout with a high-mounted screen on a shelf-like lower dash, reminiscent of the Nissan Ariya EV. The new design also retains physical controls, such as a large knob and climate control buttons, providing a blend of modern and traditional elements.

While some automakers are exploring electrification in the midsize crossover segment, the next Murano is expected to stick with its current D platform, shared with the Nissan Pathfinder and various Infiniti models. Nissan seems focused on differentiation through styling and interior space rather than changing powertrain options. Hopefully, the new model will adopt the Pathfinder’s traditional automatic transmission instead of the current CVT.

At this time, an official unveiling date for the new Murano has not been announced, but given the age of the current model, the update is highly anticipated. Stay tuned for more updates as the year progresses.
