Ineos plans to expand with two additional SUVs and potentially a new U.S. factory

The Financial Times‘ Future of the Car summit brought together 82 speakers from various sectors of the transportation industry for a three-day panel discussion. Lynn Calder, CEO of Ineos Automotive, was one of the speakers at the event, sharing insights about the company’s strategy to “stick to what we know but expand.”

As reported by Motor Trend, Ineos is currently focused on producing rugged off-road vehicles, with plans to introduce new models to their lineup. The first upcoming model is the Fusilier midsize SUV, which is set to launch in 2027 and will be available as a battery-electric vehicle or a range-extended EV, built on a skateboard platform.

Calder revealed that the BEV version of the Fusilier is expected to have a range of around 250 miles on a single charge, while the REV variants will feature a smaller battery offering about 170 miles of range, with a fuel-powered generator for battery replenishment only.

In addition to the Fusilier, Ineos Automotive plans to introduce two more SUVs to complement the Grenadier, with one being larger and the other smaller. These new models are expected to cater to a different market segment compared to the Grenadier and Quartermaster.

Considering the growth opportunities, Ineos is exploring the possibility of establishing a manufacturing facility in the United States. Currently, the company operates a plant in Hambach, France, but a U.S. facility could help meet the increasing demand for their vehicles and avoid import tariffs. The decision on the location of the new factory is still pending, with China being another potential option.
