I’m getting ready to test drive Maserati’s latest convertible models — the GranCabrio Trofeo and GranCabrio Folgore electric convertible — here in Northern Italy. Despite their similar appearances, these two cars offer distinct approaches to high-speed grand touring. Before I hit the road in these beautifully designed Italian vehicles, I’d like to hear what you’re curious about.

Are there specific questions about the GranCabrio Trofeo and Folgore EV that have been on your mind? What features of these two cars should I pay special attention to as I drive them around Italy? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Let’s go over some essential details about both cars before the test drive. First, the GranCabrio Trofeo. I recently experienced the GranTurismo Trofeo, and it was impressively fast and delightful. A detailed video review is on the way. The Trofeo is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine generating 542 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission sending power to all wheels. This setup allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 196 mph, all while providing a luxurious interior with premium leather and high-quality controls.

The GranCabrio Fologore, on the other hand, takes a different approach. While it shares a resemblance with its gasoline-powered counterpart, it swaps the V6 engine for three electric motors — one at the front and two at the rear. Delivering an impressive 818 horsepower (with overboost) and 996 lb-ft of torque, this electric vehicle offers swift acceleration thanks to its 92.5-kWh battery (83 kWh usable) and 800V architecture for DC fast charging. It can reach a top speed of 180 mph for those seeking an exhilarating experience.

Both cars promise an exciting driving experience, and I’m eager to explore them further. Before I embark on the journey, I invite you to share your inquiries and thoughts about these models in the comments section below!
