The next-generation Renegade from Jeep will be an electric vehicle priced at $25,000.

During a Stellantis investor presentation, executives including the brand’s CEO Antonio Filosa offered a glimpse into the future of Jeep up to 2027. This roadmap includes a range of new and updated models, with a strong focus on electrification across different price points.

An exciting revelation was made about the next-generation Jeep Renegade, a compact SUV that will debut with a fully-electric version priced below $25,000. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares mentioned that the electric Renegade will likely use lithium-iron-phosphate battery technology due to cost considerations and the need for LFP battery facilities in North America to qualify for tax credits. After factoring in federal tax credits, the MSRP of the electric Renegade is expected to fall below the $25,000 mark.

Aside from the Renegade, Jeep has plans for several other new models. The Jeep Compass is set to receive a new generation by 2027, and a midsize SUV announced alongside the Wagoneer S could potentially be a new Cherokee or a successor with a different name. Additionally, the Wrangler, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer will receive updates. By 2027, the Jeep lineup will feature five PHEV variants, a range-extended model, and six full EVs.

Two of the full EVs are slated for a 2025 reveal, with one based on the STLA Large platform for larger vehicles and the other on the STLA Medium platform for midsize models. The Renegade, being a B-segment vehicle with various powertrain options and an affordable price point, is expected to utilize the Smart Car platform, similar to the Citroen e-C3. This platform supports hybrid and electric powertrains, offering up to 249 miles of range on electric models.

The upcoming years are poised to be transformative for Jeep as electrification takes center stage. The Wagoneer S is set to go on sale later this year, followed by the debut of the Recon next year.

Update: Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares shared additional details about the Jeep Renegade EV. The text has been revised accordingly.

Q: Will all Jeep models be electrified by 2027?

A: While the lineup will include PHEV variants and full EVs, not every model will be fully electrified by 2027.

Jeep’s future looks promising with a strong emphasis on electrification and a lineup of new and updated models catering to various segments of the market. The introduction of the electric Renegade and other electrified offerings signals a bold step towards a more sustainable future for the brand.
